Commentators remember what we read not long ago in Shemot, that all of us are meant to be a ממלכת כהנים, a nation of priests. Thus, every verse which refers to the priest’s responsibilities also connect to our responsibilities in some way. The Sfat Emet brings the following verse home to us, “‘The priest shall burn wood upon it each morning, each morning.’ [This means that] there needs to burn in [a person’s soul] a fiery longing to worship the Creator, and this longing has to be renewed each day.”What do you long for?
