Similar to food which sustains and nourishes our bodies, Torah is a blessing that nourishes our minds and souls. The Sfat Emet connects Torah and food further, saying that just as we say blessings before and after food, so too with Torah. “The blessing we recite before we eat is for the food itself, which G!d created.
